All-Ceramic Crowns - Emax

All-ceramic crowns are the most advanced crowns in cosmetic dentistry. At Citydent, we use Ivoclar as all-ceramic crown brand. We have a special laboratory designed for the production of cosmetic teeth and expert technicians in our clinic.

Porcelain or Laminate?

All-ceramic crowns and laminate veneers are the most aesthetic and natural looking dental solutions. The disadvantage of all-ceramic compared to laminate is that all-ceramic crowns requires more grinding and the advantage is that they are more resistant and durable. Laminate crowns may not be used in cases that have severe crowding and/or grinding. For bridgework and implants in the posterior area of the mouth, zirconium-based porcelain crowns are preferred to all-ceramic crowns.

Advantages

♦ As their light transparency is very high, they allo the most similar aesthetic to natural teeth.

♦ No grayish color at he gum level.

♦ Compared to zirconium or metal-based crowns, they require less abrasion of the teeth.

♦ No allergic reactions.

♦ Their heat conductivity is quite low.

Disadvantages

♦ Since it is not a very durable material, it cannot be used in longer bridges which are often exposed to higher levels of pressure.

♦ It is more costly compared to metal-based crowns.
